Dairy Australia: Medical Nutrition Education Panel

Dairy Australia has, for many years, published a range of materials which provide nutritional information to doctors and other health professionals.

In 1999, the Medical Nutrition Education Panel was set up to promote nutrition education amongst doctors (particularly family physicians), but in a way that also incorporates and makes best use of allied health professionals, such as dietitians. This panel receives funding through an educational grant from the Dairy Australia. The panel board includes a broad range of practicing doctors, psychologists medical lecturers and nutritionalists.

We were asked to create a complete visual identity for the Medical Nutrition Education Panel which could be extended across all stationery, printed collateral, video resources and online communication.

The style needed to speak directly to the ‘professionalism’ of the target audience. However, there was a need to also introduce less conservative visuals alluding to the health and vitality of a balanced diet. This lead us to an underlying colour system which combined ‘medical’ blue with a range of golden hues.

The Medical Nutrition Education Panel was relaunched early in 2001 with the new identity. This involved mail campaigns targeting doctors and the design and production of a website which featured various nutritional resources such as an interactive quiz.
